Yes, the Botanic Garden again. Spring is still on high rampage, and this place is amazing. We visited again last weekend, in part to get our memberships, in part to put the new camera through its paces, but mostly because spring is a bustin out and this place changes weekly. Daily, even. Don’t want to miss a thing.

And if you’re still not pictured-out, we have even more on our Flickr page.
Lovely! Especially the photo of the yellow rose – my favorite.
Congrats on being freshly pressed! 🙂

Thanks! The rose garden is only about half in bloom – there promises to be much more of all colors in the weeks to come.

These are absolutely stunning — love the “imperfection” of that amazing flower.
It just shows that “life” can sometimes try to get in the way of (but instead enhance) true art!

Thanks! I love that shot. I didn’t even realize that 1 petal was missing when I took it – I was drawn to the color and the shape.

Thanks! That is from one of my favorite trees, the Mimosa Tree. These suckers grow all over the place throughout the Southeast and it was a treat to see it in the garden’s tropical room.

Thanks @Snapshooter & @Julie. I can’t take credit for that one, my Darling, Dearest Husband (or DH for short) took that shot – and I promptly swiped it for my Facebook cover photo. I love that bold graphic look – I just might have to talk him into making it into a print!

Thanks! I would highly recommend visiting. The garden is huge, surprisingly inexpensive to get into, and a photographer’s paradise. They really take good care to make sure something is happening all throughout the garden at all times.

if I was back again 5 years old I would be stomping my little feet of the excitement that these pictures have brought! I love Spring really that much :)))
Being a grown up young woman, I still appreciate and adore the beauty of fresh flowers and just the way the blossom looks makes me wanna wear it.
Great pictures, really.

Beautiful shots!! You are lucky Spring is heading your way 🙂 Here at the Southern Hemisphere we are just about to head into Winter!! Though at least we’ve got a bit of sun and not wet today…

Thanks! Your time with Spring will come soon enough – you’ve got my favorite time of year now! Spring is beautiful with its flowers, but fall is magical 😉

Hahaha yes I couldn’t argue with that! Fall is actually my favourite season too as the beautiful sun is still high up in the deep blue sky and yet not scorchingly hot 😀 Less rain than winter and spring too!! Though it’s just we get less natural light now and I just feel so lazy when it is cold 😛

i’m a very hard-core rational no-nonsense no-emotions kind of man: that’s what i think about myself most of the times. it was after a long while that something reminded me of the emotional side of the rationality that i used to have a long time ago, when i used to enjoy my trees, flowers and colours. thanks.

Thanks. Most of the photos were taken with a Nikon D300S (all the photos above the large pink, white and green flower in portrait orientation) of those, some were taken with the Lensbaby Sweet 35 optic and the rest were taken with a standard 50mm prime lens. The rest of the pictures were taken with a Nikon D800 body and Nikkor 105mm lens. We visited the park mid afternoon-ish. I think we finished at about 3? Maybe got there at 11 or noon?
