Live DJs and race commentary on the big screens from the Fan Zone (run well by the W Hotel). This was a nice value-add, not only the atmosphere of the Zone but the big screen happenings.
The Motorway entrance at night from the comfort of the shuttle bus that ferried us from the parking lot to the grandstand and back. Shuttles were also available to get to the Metro, which was a necessity – Ubers weren’t happening, and while parking was controlled seemingly well, it was still a mess.
Qatar’s first F1 weekend. This year, Qatar won the bid to host the F1 – the bid was won, a quick month-ish scramble was had to make the Losail Speedway (previously a Moto Grand Prix & general track sports venue) ready for the big cars.
