Today’s mystery Japanese snack: tiny savory crispy bits that taste kind of like crispy lo mein. The copywriter in me absolutely loves the company explanation of Baby-Star. In short: Not only is it an economical reclaimed food (made from ramen noodle overage), it’s a substantial snack more convenient than foods involving utensils. 😍
If how you spend the 1st day of the year is an indicator of how your year will go, 2021 will be just fine. Caught up with friends, snuggled the pups, discovered a hidden gem lunch restaurant, met up with a 1 part of a friend couple for drinks in a pub, and spent time hanging out with the 2nd part of the couple at home while watching their new little one learn new skills.
As the year draws to a close, now is a good time to not only reflect and make any redirection plans necessary, but to take stock as well. I decided to address the mess that is my pantry this morning – taking stock, reorganizing, making plans to use the bounty of spices & sauces I’ve got, and chucking anything that is out of date or doesn’t serve me. Like shrimp paste. Whyyyy did I have 2? Who needs 3 bottles of Worcestershire?? Apparently me? 😆
