I can’t believe it’s 2015 already. Let’s take a look back at the year that was:
January
My first picture of the day was taken while I was out and about on my way to see American Hustle.
I started the year with a cold and heavy from all the food I ate during two separate family groups coming to visit the previous December. This sounds like a familiar cycle.
I embarked upon my second Whole 30.
An unwelcome surprise: pipes in the apartment above us burst, sending enough water to cover our floors by 2-3 inches rushing through the walls. This is a shot of my poor old man laying on squishy floors because he just couldn’t take standing up any more.
February
We moved! Weren’t planning on it, but our slumlord at the old place wouldn’t fix the floors, the elevator was out of service for over a month – and then the building’s pipes froze, rendering our kitchen inoperable for over a week.
March
We saw Old Crow Medicine Show + The Avett Brothers at the Barclays Center
I started my Adventures In Budget Paleo Cooking series
Dinosaurs!
April
Finally, an end to the winter!
City walk
Exploring
May
This guy looked magnificent
My hubbs ran the Brooklyn Half
I did my first mud run – Mudderella – and found a passion for physical accomplishment I didn’t know was possible.
I gained a new sister when my baby brother got married.
June

I got my first CSA box of the year
Raleigh
Brooklyn Cyclones 5k
July

We had a fantastic vantage point for the fireworks
Celebrate Brooklyn outdoor concert in the park

This face.
This was the year of the nautical sleeve (on my hubby, not myself)
October
Probably my favorite month out of the year, generally
Last mud run of the season – Merrill Down N Dirty
Snuggling munchkins and providing comic relief for good friends in Kansas
Brooklyn Color Run
My first stab at real Halloween makeup
November
This guy is awesome and ran a freaking marathon.
We celebrated with a semi-snowy trip to Lake Placid
And then heartbreak happened when we lost our Old Man
But life goes on. The Turkey Trot 5-miler on Thanksgiving took our minds off our sadness for a bit.
And we took the time to lavish our other little guy with more fun – like this trip to the off leash hours at the big park (Prospect Park).
December
2014 Holiday Cards
Lights
Fantastic birthday celebration
City lights
And apparently I forgot to post a selfie from my last race of the season – the Roosevelt Island Winter Series 5k.
And that was my 2014. Some highs, some really low lows, and lots and lots of fitness.
As always, I want to thank you for your continued readership and support. I really appreciate your comments and feedback. If there is anything you want to see more/less of in 2015, let me know!
