(A modicum of perceived) freeeedom – DH got his license and wheels back today.

Sooooooooo … I forgot to take a picture yesterday.
👻
DH spends all morning tearing the house up looking for his work knife.

I open the cabinet to put Thanksgiving dishes away and get assaulted by some Irishmen.
Happy Thanksgiving, all!
This year I am thankful for the new chapter DH and I have had the good fortune to have started and the wonderful new friends we got to celebrate with.
This year’s spread:

Appetizers: veggie plate, lemon Parmesan dip, pistachio crusted goat cheese balls, Ritz crackers and homegrown watermelon from one of DH’s coworkers.

The Main Event: Roast Doha chickens with arugula, pine nuts and raisins.

Sides: Brussels sprouts with Parmesan, Roast green beans with French fried onions, fantastic mashed potatoes brought by a friend, onion gravy, roasted garlic mashed cauliflower, roasted baby onions & Brussels sprouts with bacon.

Desserts: apple tartlets, low carb strawberry and almond parfaits, and unfortunately not pictured chili brownies brought by a friend.
Also not pictured: a huge basket of bread, cranberry jelly, and drinks out the wazoo.
I’d say it was a success. I’m ridiculously full.
Hanging out at the local “strip” for dinner.

They can’t all be beach days –

This picture might not be sexy to you, but to me it means I get to serve my favorite vegetable on Thanksgiving. I’ve looked high and low for these babies, and had almost given up hope for them happening this week!
It was only 83 today – almost too chilly for the sea or pool.

Look what DH brought me back from Raleigh:

Local artist Ron Beauchemin did a phenomenal job capturing our bites’ likeness – got a little misty.
Hi, ma – Celebrated what is now *International* you day by:
Attempting to book a haircut
Going out for a disappointing lunch at an Asian place
Taking a water taxi to Katara
Wandering a Dhow festival and getting to see really cool Qatari cultural heritage, the old Emir, a friend, and a craft fair
And ending the day by taking myself out to a much better seafood dinner right on the water on the way home

I think you’d approve.
