The Bosphorus Strait from Rumeli Fortress, which was constructed a year before the sack of Constantinople in a span of four months. How? Determined manpower, and by using materials scavenged from Roman ruins – which you can still see evidence of here and there.

Like in this marble portion of a cross that was repurposed into a floor tile.

They were ancient zero wasters and didn’t even know it.
