Look at this handsome guy

😍😍😍
This meal came about because I was too lazy to go grocery shopping after coming home from vacation, and had zero fresh food (but a lemon) in the house. I think I did pretty well for myself and was super sad that I didn’t have leftovers for lunch the next day.

Royal Botanical Garden

Tea factory to learn how it’s made – apparently, white is 1 plant and black/green teas are from the same plant. Had no idea.

Woodcarving with a demonstration of the rainbow tree, which has been used since antiquity to make paints and fabric dyes – cool stuff – the paintings at Dambulla from yesterday’s post were made with red/purple/orange/yellow paints made from this tree + something either acidic like lime juice or basic like chalk.
Also quickly stopped at a gem museum, but didn’t have time for the tour; just shopping.

Loads of sweets made with rice flour and coconut products at this cool little government-run stand
